BLFE Series | C, X, Ku, K, Ka, Q & V-Band

Compact Digitally Controlled Linearizer Modules
for Use in TWTAs Power Amplifiers

The BLFE series offer a complete frontend and a predistortion linearizer in a single compact module. They are intended to be installed within TWT and Klystron high power amplifiers. SSPA versions are also available. They provide high gain (>40 dB) with a wide range attenuator (>30 dB), analog or digital control, and optional power detection and mute control. They typically give a 4X power increase with multicarrier traffic and advanced digital modulation. Alignment is done at the time of installation and typically requires less than 10 minutes.

GLFE Series | C, Ku, Ka

Predistortion Linearizer Modules for
GaN Solid State Power Amplifiers

Available for VHF, UHF, and microwave and millimeter-wave bands. GLFEs are designed specifically for manufacturers of GaN SSPAs, and involve the following steps:

  1. The amplifer manufacturer (AM) provides LTI with information on the nonlinear characteristics of their amplifer. LTI engineers provide an estimate of the performance improvement of a GLFE.
  2. Once approved, LTI will provide a GLFE for testing.
  3. LTI will then finalize and undertake to the production of GLFEs.

LBUC Series | X, Ku, Ka, Quad, Dual

Compact Digitally Controlled Linearizer Modules
for Use in High Power Amplifiers (HPAs)

LBUCs, linearized block upconverters, are available for X, Ku and Ka and Q-band. They directly drive high power amplifiers (TWTAs, KPAs, SSPAs) from an L or X-Band signal source. LBUCs provide high gain (>40 dB) with a wide range attenuator (>35 dB), analog or digital control, and an external or internal reference. They typically give a 4X power increase with multicarrier traffic and advanced digital modulation. Alignment is done at the time of installation and typically requires less than 10 minutes.

TRI Band Series

Linearizer Modules designed as
an economical solution for TWTAs

Offering one, two or three Linearized Band Options in one housing, the Tri-band Linearizer provides a Wide Dynamic Range for Digital, Analog & Mixed Signals. This linearizer is easy to align, features full Uplink bandwidths and has analog control.

WAFL Series L/S, C, X, Ku, K (DBS), Ka & Q- Band

Provide TWTAs with an effective 4x power increase with digital & multicarrier traffic

WAFL series linearizers are standard 19″ rack mounted panel units intended for use with TWTAs, Klystrons, and SSPAs. They give an effective 4x power increase with digital and multicarrier traffic. Installation is usually less than 30 minutes using the Quick Start Alignment Guide. LTI is also available 24/7 to provide extensive technical support.

WAFL Series rack mount linearizers are available in either analog, front panel control or our  “Set and Forget” Computer Controlled option. Usually configured and preset at our facility prior to shipment, this unit features one setting to cover the full uplink band.

Custom MIC | Hybrid (SSA’s)

Predistortion Linearizer Modules for
Solid State Power Amplifiers

Custom MIC/hybrid linearizer modules are available for VHF, UHF, and microwave and millimeter-wave bands for use with bipolar, FET, MESFET, HEMT and HBT. Whether your application is for a Class A, AB or B amplifier, LTI can develop for you a custom linearizer module, while providing 100% support from development through production including customer product support.

A custom development program designed specifically for manufacturers of SSPAs (Solid State Power Amplifiers).  It has the following steps:

  1. The amplifier manufacturer (AM) provides LTI detailed information on the nonlinear characteristics of their amplifier. LTI engineers, using proprietary modeling software, will provide an estimate of the performance improvement of a custom-designed LTI linearizer module. Typically, the more non-linear the amplifier, the greater the benefit of linearization.
  2. LTI will develop a breadboard module for the AM to test with the SSPA. LTI will work with the AM to optimize the module design.
  3. When an optimum design is reached, LTI will produce a hybrid preproduction engineering model for further testing to finalize the design.
  4. LTI will then finalize the production design and undertake to produce a quantity of units.
  5. LTI is there to support the manufacture of linearized SSPAs as needed.

Gain flatness/phase Equalizers (TEQs)

TEQ series equalizer for C, X, Ku and Ka Satellite Bands

LTI has both custom and TEQ series module equalizers designed to correct the frequency response slope of RF/microwave/millimeter-wave power amplifiers and other applications. Standard units are available in C-Band, X-Band, Ku and Ka-Band frequencies for TWTs, Klystrons and solid state Power Amplifiers. They provide full uplink bandwidths and simple voltage control of the slope.
